Well, it's been a while. Like a whole LOT of while. Is anyone out there
from the old blog days? If so, it would be mighty fine to see you.
Rather a lot ...

Freaky
I'm not sure I'm going to survive this Summer.
Earlier today Master Munchkin was in the front yard playing with a parachute/ball toy. When I went to check on him, he wasn't anywhere to be found. Stepping farther out into the yard, I spotted him. Apparently his toy had gone up on the roof so he shimmied up the tree next to our house to get it. I discovered him sitting contentedly on the roof.
Later, he came into the house with a quivering lip. He doesn't cry easily so I knew something was up. The story soon came out: he had been shooting balloons with his BB gun and a bb ricocheted into his eye! I gave him a thorough exam and settled him on the couch with an ice pack. There didn't seem to be any obvious injury so I thought we got lucky and gave him my best, "That's why I gave you those safety glasses" lecture.
Here's the freaky part: after we tucked Master Munckin in bed, he came out with a funny expression on his face. He told us that a bb had come out of his eye! What the heck!? Apparently it did not bounce off like we thought. There is not an obvious injury to the eyeball, so it must have been rolling around in his socket somewhere. For 5 hours. He said it just rolled out of his tear duct and down his face. Then he handed it to us.
Shudder.
I'm going to see how he's feeling in the morning; I may end up taking him in to the doctor, just to be safe.
This is going to be a long, long Summer.

I'm freaked out but laughing. This will be one of those great life stories.
"One time I shot a bb in my eye and 5 hours later....."
I'm freaking out. Thank God he's ok!
