I love having a clean house, but my house is usually pretty well lived-in. In fact, every time my children see me cleaning, they get suspicious and a bit worked up.
Munchkin 1: What's going on?!Sigh. No, no, Dear Children, your mother is just cleaning. It'll be OK.
Munchkin 2: Who's coming over?
Munchkin 1: Is it my birthday?
Munchkin 2: Are we moving?

I can so relate. My kids always ask who is coming over when I start to clean.
