Today our martial art's studio held its first in-house tournament. The Munchkins competed and I took photos. A lot of photos. 1,214 photos, to be precise. I think my brain is broken now. I'll post pics and fill you in soon.
Ugh, Alisa - it's so hard getting good pictures in a dojo! I set my camera to Shutter priority so I can freeze the action and I use a lens with a small aperture so it can let in the maximum amount of light. I don't like to shoot with a flash because I don't want to distract the students and draw attention to myself so I bump up the iso and then try to clean up the underexposed images in post processing afterwards.
Never! Thanks, sounds like what I *try* to do, just never really works. I've almost given up and just use the extra large flash. They might be blind, but I'll have great pictures of them trying to spar. Maybe I should try your way again? Thanks for the tips! I really, really appreciate it.
And it's all over! The happiness is crazy and the thankfulness is huge.
Went down with Husband, picking up Daughter on the way.
Beautiful, beautiful morning....

break ...
