In Which I Make Vague Swishing Motions

Our washing machine is still broken.  I've done a few loads at my mother's and at a kind friend's, but it makes me feel all Collegic and Moochy.  So I've been using our dry sink to wash laundry by hand.  I fill it with water and laundry soap and soak the clothes for a few hours, stopping by every once in awhile to swish things around.  Then I rinse and squeeze and squish out water out the best I can and drag things outside to dry in the sun.  Our dryer still works, but as long as I'm being Ma from "Little House on the Prairie", I figure that I might as well do things all the way. :)

Oh, I feel sorry for you! Look at the bright side...at least it's not winter. Been there done that! Hope I never have to do that again. Nothing like having to hang clothes outside in the cold. Hope it gets fixed soon.

please drop off a load at my house and then go do errands till it's dried and folded! The part of the laundry process at which I do not excel is "putting away" --- so there shouldn't be a problem there if you come pick it up! I would love to be helpful.

Katharine, thank you - you're very sweet! I think we're OK; The mechanic is coming Monday and I just did a sinkfull of essentials. :)

Swishing wins, hands-down, over beating laundry on a rock any day.

Now we know why in times past, the womenfolk did laundry once a month, sometimes less. Oh. My. Stars.

Happy Weekend, Friend!

I'm so proud of you I could cry. Hanging out the laundry....so, so proud. Now get over here and use my washer...we'll hang it out together.
