Tornado Warning

Welcome to Springtime in Kansas!

This afternoon I was interrupted from scratching in my vegetable garden by the first tornado warning of the season. Kansas ranks only behind Texas and Oklahoma in the average number of tornado in the US; we get about 50 per year. However, despite living in Kansas for 15 years, I've never seen a real-live tornado. Several years ago, one did touch down less than a mile from our home, causing damage to our town, but I didn't see it - I was in the basement!

I definitely don't miss living in Tornado Alley. I'm quite happy here in earthquake and massive fire land these days.

April - you need a weather radio!

Yikes! Jo, at least you usually have some warning that a tornado is coming. Earthquakes are totally out of the blue. That would freak me out.
