A Kansas Kick

As new Brown Belts in martial arts, Miss Munchkin and I are learning some new kicks. One of them is the Tornado kick. I guess that's appropriate since it's Spring and we live in Kansas! Anyway, I really struggle with most some of the moves that we do in class. I feel old and uncoordinated and just plain awkward. My body has never before been asked to move like this!

So here is the Tornado Kick. My only condolence is that I have 3 months to learn it. I will probably need every minute.

Oh my. What a kick. It seems like an acrobatic move. Does your instructor provide step by step instructions? I would definitely need hands on instructions to accomplish that kick.

Will you turn silver and be naked like that in three months too?

Jen - we have great instructors who are very patient (thank goodness!)

April - Gosh, I hope not!!! :P

Wow. I can barely lug my butt into the saddle. Pretty sure I'll never manage a tornado kick. Congrats on the belts though!

Um, yeah. #1 I would land on my ass. #2 if I *did* manage to land on my foot, my knee would shred and never work again, and #3 assuming anyone did this correctly, the other guy would *not* be standing up again.

Thanks Alisa. I think it's great that you're riding. It's fun and a workout too!

Jo, of course the Munchkins can do it effortlessly. Sigh. It's hard getting old! Wait, my instructor is a grandpa and HE can do it effortlessly. Dang, there goes my excuse!
