Busy Boy

Our puppy has been busy lately.

These are were my only pair of black heels. They were comfy and cute - a rare combination.

These were my signature shoes. They looked great with a pair of jeans. They don't make these guys anymore - I checked.

Yes, this is a library book.

How embarrassing.

Oh no! We have a stray beagle that we have adopted and I found that he has chewed on one of my new rocking chairs on the porch. Too late though... we already love the darn vandal, grin.

Oh no...that's so hard. This is really gross, but we bought Bully Sticks for about 3 months. They are DISGUSTING and kind of $$$, but got us thru the 'chew & destroy' stage with our puppy.

Ooooh, bummer about the shoes. The perfect, I-LOVE-these! shoes are just so hard to come by. And where's the honour in death by chewing?

About the library book - trust me, librarians have seen worse. Just take my word on this one.

I feel your pain...our two rascals have done everything but tear the house down..but we still love them and they do out grow it....Now we have two kittens who LOVE my Christmas ornaments alittle too much....but it will be alright in the end...they are cute little buggers...

I'm sending my sympathies and condolences. Comfortable shoes are SOOO hard to come by! (It hurt to look at those pictures.)

We lucked out in our last dog (she's nearly 13 now) because she was never a chewer. But we have a friend who spent over $50 EVERY MONTH (on chew toys) for over a year before her pup grew out of the chewing habit!

Oh no! I agree with the Bully sticks. Just don't ever think about what they actually are and you'll be fine!

Remember me? the one with the dog who had just stolen a stick of butter and then an avocado?
These scenes look so familiar. The only way I got through the chewing phase was to remove all targets from reach. And swap unacceptable for acceptable, attractive chew alternatives. (I should point out that the temper tantrum dance I developed was cathartic but not productive.)

Blessings used the same thing I did/do. There are also antlers (natural, not as icky). Both can be found online and in certain pet stores.

I'm so sorry about the shoes. Back then, Gus got my new red clogs (among the long list of other things) that looked great with a suit or with jeans, so I share your pain.

Thanks for all of your sympathies and suggestions. I am hopeful that this is a phase! We will keep providing him with lots of toys he can chew on and chew up (and will keep our dwindling supply of shoes up and out of reach!)

By the way, EW! I'd never heard of Bully Sticks. The Master got quite a chuckle out of that one! :P

Perhaps you could trade the dog for a flock of chickens... at least you'd get some eggs out of the deal.
