Fear Can be a Mitey Thing

One morning I found the Master curled into a small ball, lying entirely on top of his pillow.

"Hello. What are you doing?"

"Trying to keep away from the Dust Mites."

"Huh?"

"Since Dust Mites are so small, it will take them longer to crawl up here," he explained.

Curse you, Science Channel! He had recently watched a show about these creepy bugs and, apparently, had developed an acute awareness of them. Very acute. I guess that's what happens when you see something that God never intended us to look upon with our naked eyes.

"Will you wash my sheets today?"

"Ooookay...."
Rats, I was hoping to let them go a few more weeks a little longer.

"In hot water. It has to be hot."

I told him about the sanitary cycle on my washing machine.
(I'm happy that, in addition to killing dust mites, it helps mothers of little boys stay sane.)

After his clean, mite-free sheets were put on his bed, he was fine and slept soundly.

Which reminds me, I'd better go see what's coming up on the Science Channel....

That and Discovery Health. I swear, my daughter has come down with 6 trillion rare diseases in the past 6 months. She's either going to be a doctor when she grows up or a hypochondriac. Guess where I'm placing my $$.

My son is actually allergic to those ugly little creatures. We have no carpet in our house because of it. Don't tell Master that carpet is a breading fest for those creatures. Who knows what he will do then :)

Oh, yeah, I forgot about Discovery Health and its 250lb tumors and freaky twins growing where they shouldn't.

Jen, that would be bad, very bad. I can see him now, jumping from object to object, to avoid touching the sea of mite feces that is surrounding his bed. Nice!

Here, Here! on the things God never intended us to see! I'm SO creeped out about those things I won't watch them anymore. 'Course that doesn't matter now as I know they're there ANYway. And now when I don't change the sheets constantly, I feel guilty. I don't DO anything differently but the extra angst is just so bothersome.

Found you through Ladybird whom I love! Drop by and visit anytime. My post of a few days ago on False Teeth and Pastors might give you a chuckle. :)
