Me At 14

This is Buddermilk. Bud for short. Before I met him, he was a wild mustang, roaming free in Wyoming. I bought him when I was 13. He was gentle and timid, he hated trailers and loved orange Popsicles.

Owning a horse was a good thing for me. I worked hard hauling hay, breaking ice, and cleaning stables. I had callouses on my hands and sore muscles. But the magic of having a horse made it all worth it.

Aww, those are really sweet pictures and memories. I bet your girl likes seeing pictures of you when you were her age.

Rene, I think Miss Munchkin is much cooler than I was at her age!

How many days now till you'll be home?

TWO! We'll be leaving sometime on Monday so we might get in that night or maybe on Tuesday. I can't wait!

I don't know, I think it's pretty cool owning a horse! But so is composing music and writing short stories and doing above average in Latin.

What great memories. Just don't let The Girl know that you can actually own a horse. I fear our backyard is not quite large enough to house one.
What a delightful way to learn responsibility.

Alisa, you're right! Owning a horse and renting a horse are entirely different things. As a parent, I would definitely go the the renting route!
