Downright Distracting

I'm telling you, it's downright distracting when God keeps doing this out my window. It really makes it hard for me to get my family out the door in the morning.

"Where's my shoe? Hey, where's Mom?"
"Oh, she's outside.
In her pajamas.
Again."

My neighbors probably think I'm crazy. :)

What is Krav Maga Anyway & Why Are You Taking It?

You can read more about Krav Maga here, but basically it is a self-defense method that was developed in Israel. Miss Munchkin and I started taking classes to help us keep fit, to have some fun mom/daughter time, and to learn how to defend ourselves.

I like it because the skills and techniques that are taught are very practical and useful from day one. We don't spend months learning forms or katas that are at the heart of many traditional martial arts.

Speeding

As usual, we were running late to piano lessons. I was driving briskly down 15th street when a truck passed me. "Are they speeding?", Master Munchkin wanted to know.
"Yes." I replied smugly.
"Are we?"
I glanced down at my speedometer. "Not much."
"Mom, it says 40 on the sign and you're going 45".
Half-seriously, I shoot back, "Yeah, well, if a policeman comes along, he'll get that truck, because he's going faster. And he's in front of me." So there.
My 6 year old piped up once more. "But if that truck drove off a cliff, would you drive too?"

My favorite Sister came over and we had a fabulous photoshoot. She has a good eye and was a delight to photograph. This is one she got of me!

Reeses Squares (No Bake)

This recipe will singlehandedly knock me off of any diet that I am attempting at the time. I simply can not resist it!

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 lb confectioners' sugar (about 3 cups)
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
1 cup butter, melted
1 (12 oz) bag of chocolate chips

First, put about 1 and 1/2 packages of graham crackers into a gallon sized baggie then put this whole thing inside another baggie and give to the nearest energetic child, along with instructions to "crush 'em to crumbs"! (Or you can buy graham cracker crumbs already crushed in the baking aisle of your grocery store).

Combine graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, pb and melted butter in a large bowl. Spread into a 9x13 pan.

Melt chocolate chips in a glass bowl in the microwave (stir every 30 seconds until smooth). Spread melted chocolate over gooey goodness in pan and place in fridge. After chocolate starts to set up, take out and cut into squares, but leave them in the pan and put back in fridge. For as long as you can stand it. Then enjoy!
